My best of 2019 weddings posts got interrupted by very real 2020 craziness. We’ve been home for almost three months in an attempt to be cautious with our little foster girly. Three weeks before three months ago (so a freaking long time ago according to math), Xav and I were desperate for an out of home date night.

But we have still been attempting to connect and do fun things together despite being stuck at home and it reminded me of the other times we were tight on money or stuck in a limited space (anyone remember this post about the higi blood pressure checker or this one about our Airbnb date life?) Well it’s time to do it again! Here are our quarantine date night activities that we’ve had on repeat…

French – We started learning French together through Duolingo a few years ago and then took a break from it when we decided going to France might not happen for a bit. But the extra time at home has rekindled our desire to learn and we’ve both started back up. I asked Xav what he thought my favorite part of learning French was… he didn’t know, so I told him… the kissing. LOL groossss

Mixing mocktails – I thought that by the time I was this old I’d finally have acquired the taste for wine. But nope. Still prefer juice. Xav and I have gotten fairly into sparkling water though so we will occasionally take turns making new juice+sparkling water or fruit+sparkling water concoctions. It’s pretty fancy.

Dog training – we gave up on training the cats (though we still love them dearly)… and we got a puppy! Shuri entered our life exactly one week before Michigan went crazy and I am so thankful we got her when we did! She is such a smart pup and the extended time at home together has really given us a lot of time to teach her new tricks. She gets very hyped up about food and I’m fairly sure she will learn anything if food is involved. We have trained her in the basics of sit, stay, lay down, go to bed, and come. And we have gotten her to learn some fun ones like play dead, roll over, jump, high five, shake, and spin. We are currently teaching her agility stuff since we ran out of trick ideas. She can crawl under the piano bench and jump through a hula hoop! Working together to train her has been super fun!

Painting and Board Games – painting relaxes me and board games are still Xav’s favorite. Even though we each have our thing, we like doing it with each other more than by ourselves (although some of Xav’s games you actually CAN play alone… yikes).
